Red Giant Software Appoints New Distributor
San Francisco, CA, June 2, 2003 – Red Giant Software today announced that it appointed The CarPark as its exclusive European distributor. The CarPark will market all of Red Giant Software’s high-end tools for digital filmmakers, including Magic Bullet Suite, Knoll Light Factory, Primatte Keyer, Composite Wizard, and Image Lounge.

Comprised of a suite of five Adobe After Effects plug-ins, Magic Bullet Suite takes original, digital video—DV, Digital Betacam or HD footage—and gives it that special film look, even converting it to 24 frames per second (film speed) if required. Magic Bullet Suite works on both Macintosh and Windows platforms.
Magic Bullet Suite was recently used on My Flesh and Blood, a Chaiken Films and HBO/Cinemax production, which won the 2003 Sundance Film Festival’s Audience Award for best documentary. Emmy-Award Winning Director, Jonathan Karsh, relied on Magic Bullet Suite to achieve the cinematic look that was key to winning this prestigious award.
The San Francisco and Los Angeles-based post house—The Orphanage—that developed Magic Bullet Suite used it in the making of Jackass – The Movie.Jackass beat earnings estimates by more than three times, becoming one of the largest October openings in history. It was also the largest opening ever for a film shot on standard definition video—ahead of The Blair Witch Project—and the second largest for digital movies in general—behind Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
Pricing and Availability
Magic Bullet Suite, version 1.1 supports After Effects 5.5 and later on Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and Windows 2000/XP operating systems. There are two versions of the software: Magic Bullet Suite Standard Definition (SD) £625 excluding VAT (€875 excluding VAT), which supports NTSC and PAL video resolutions, and Magic Bullet Suite High Definition (HD) £1,250 excluding VAT (€1,750 excluding VAT), which has no resolution limit.
